NHH Shipping Conferenece - Leadership 2022

The NHH Shipping Conference has long been regarded as an important meeting point for shipping-related business, decision makers in the «blue economy» and academia.

In cooperation with The Norwegian School of Economics, Bergen Shipowners’ Association and Maritime Bergen, “The NHH Shipping Conference – LeaderShip” is goig live on the 8th November!

This year’s theme is «Back to the Future,» where we use our knowledge to set sail into the future. Together we raise the agenda on how politics and power play influence our investment and technological decisions. A day where we ask what we can do with the assets and resources we have enroute 2050, one step at a time.

Part 2. My ship is loaded with green ambitions?

Amidst soaring inflation, continuous supply chain disruptions and an urgent energy security crisis following the Ukraine war, are shipping emissions still a priority for the shipping industry’s stakeholders?  Or is the uncertainty of which fuel to choose, and the cost of shifting, too big to handle?

Are financial institutions still in their same change agent mode? And how important is the cashflow for new investments.

We have invited several key stake holders to give an update on our decarbonization journey, where we will also learn more about possible new solutions from known technology such as carbon storage, thorium and nuclear. The question is whether we need to think outside the box regarding our “green ambitions” to reach our set goals for 2030 and 2050, or if our set strategy is good enough.
