Navigating leadership challenges for the future

Program

The 2024-2025 program is now closed and underway. More information on the next cohort coming soon.

The Next Wave Maritime Leadership program is tailored for forward-thinking individuals at the mid-career level, whom we affectionately refer to as «Midships». We encourage applications from diverse backgrounds and roles within the maritime industry, fostering cross-silo learning and collaboration. All participants should possess the aspiration to assume greater leadership responsibilities.

With a commitment to fostering inclusivity and diversity, our program aims to accommodate a maximum of 30 participants, ensuring an intimate and impactful learning environment.

The Next Wave Maritime Leadership program is one of a kind, tailormade, leadership development program for the maritime industry.

This program is designed to strengthen and prepare the next generation of maritime leaders as they face a wave of complex challenges associated with decarbonisation, digitalisation and diversity. During the course, participants will receive a tailor made academic program pinpointed to the shipping industry. They will also be challenged to work in teams and solve relevant cases from the industry. This program intends to elevate the knowledge linked to change, and create more visible role-models as we compete to attract the brightest heads from 100% of the talent pool.

Developed collaboratively by industry experts and academic partners, including BI Norwegian School of Business and Western Norway University of Applied Sciences (HVL), the program comprises four unique academic modules, each spanning three days. These modules are meticulously designed to equip participants with the essential skills needed to lead organizations towards a digital, global, diverse, and sustainable future—qualities essential for tomorrow’s leaders.

For the 2024-2025 cohort, the tuition fee is set at 89.000,- NOK (excluding taxes) per participant. Travel expenses are not included.
