Next Wave Maritime Leadership Program Relaunches with Strategic Partnership Signing between Maritime Bergen and Academic Partners BI & HVL.
Maritime Bergen is excited to announce the relaunch of its highly anticipated Next Wave Maritime Leadership Program for the 2024-2025 cohort. This groundbreaking initiative, in collaboration with esteemed academic partners BI Norwegian Business School and HVL Western Norway University of Applied Sciences, was officially marked by a strategic partnership signing ceremony under One Ocean Week with Sigvald Sveinbjørnsson, Managing Director of Maritime Bergen, and Yngve Fjell, Business Development Manager at BI.
Building on the success of the previous iteration, the Next Wave Maritime Leadership Program has undergone significant updates based on feedback from previous participants and changing needs from industry leaders. These enhancements ensure that the program remains at the forefront of leadership development within the maritime sector, addressing the evolving needs of participants and the industry as a whole.
The program offers an even more tailored curriculum addressing critical industry challenges such as decarbonization, digitalization, and diversity. The program spans over four three-day modules over the course of the year, in Bergen, Oslo and Haugesund. Participants will benefit from interactive case studies, collaborative group work, and networking opportunities, all designed to equip them to lead in a sustainable future.
2024-2025 Program:
- Module 1: September 2024, BI Bergen, A Changing Maritime Industry
- Module 2: November 2024, HVL Haugesund, Transition to Green
- Module 3: January 2025, BI Oslo, Strategic digitalization, innovation and scaling
- Module 4: April 2025, BI Bergen, Diversity, leadership and change management

Participants spanned from various roles within the industry, underlining an important aspect of the program of facilitating cross-silo learning.
